Join Liberty Grace Academy for an engaging day of outdoor learning at Balboa Park, where students will explore the beauty and diversity of the natural world through the study of botany, plant identification, and fall field observation.
📅 Date: November 12 (Thursday)
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM
Meet at the entrance to the Japanese Friendship Garden
Our field study will explore several of Balboa Park's beautiful free gardens, along with the Japanese Friendship Garden:
🌴 Palm Canyon
🌺 Alcazar Garden
🌿 Botanical Building & Lily Pond
🌵 Desert Garden
🌹 Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden
🦋 Zoro Garden
🌺 Casa del Rey Moro Garden
🌿 Japanese Friendship Garden
Students will have the opportunity to observe and identify a variety of trees, leaves, flowers, palms, succulents, cacti, and other plant life. As they explore, students will practice using a fall field guide to record, identify, and classify their observations.
This experience will encourage students to slow down, look closely at creation, and connect their classroom studies with the incredible diversity of God's world around them.
Students are encouraged to bring a nature notebook for sketching, recording observations, and documenting discoveries throughout the day. Families may also purchase the Nature Notebook from The Good and the Beautiful to complement the field-study experience.
Whether you are part of our Liberty Grace Academy community or simply looking for an enriching educational experience, we welcome you to join us.
This field trip combines science, nature study, observation, plant identification, and outdoor learning in one of San Diego's most beautiful settings.
🌿 We look forward to a memorable day of discovering and studying the plants of Balboa Park together!
